Fortunately our grandchildren slept a little later than usual, but the younger one still was up by 7:20. A typically slow Sunday morning with Susan sleeping later, but not as late as usual ... the little rascal went up and woke her up a little after 8:00. We had a groggy morning with a late breakfast, and Matthew, Joanna, and the kids packed up and left a little after 11:00. That meant that I missed church ... and perhaps that we missed church since I hope now that Susan won't be able to say that Sun. is a rare day off from work, she's get ready and go with me. We lazed around most of the day, as is often the case on Sun. Late in the afternoon she met with Starkville's Distinguished Young Woman (DYW) winner and a past winner. Susan has been working with the program since our daughter won it 20+ yrs. ago. She enjoys it, and she's really good with the kids. This will be something she will continue to do, and it should be lots less stressful and demanding now that she doesn't do it on top of work. When she came home, I grilled pork chops for dinner, and she helped with the veggies. A night of TV, then off to bed early for her and later for me.
